I have made the vessels into an interesting formation to attack the viewer and to question there purpose, I did several versions before settling with this combination.

The exit of vessels from the main body is positioned just below the centre point, adding to the asymmetrical form which is  the case found in human anatomy.

Now I will have to look at the scale for this piece and how it will fit together with the other two sculptures which will make up this family group.

I have kept the left handed bias and elevated rear section on the model, when making it, my hand movements produced the feeling of a greeting gesture, a welcoming and friendly feel is produce, a feeling I will take through to the resolved piece.

This is also the first time I have used newplast for making models, its a type of plastacine and it is very easy to use. Here’s the original drawing for comparison, and I did remove the section at the base, and I feel it improves the overall composition.
