As the time draws closer to my next exhibition there is a palpable sensation of excitement in the studio as preparation for the 360° exhibition increases as the hanging date draws nearer. It has been a thrilling few months as my initial sketches have now moved to the nearly completed sculptures. As you can see I use expanding foam to make my works.

Some may say the medium of expanding foam is unforgiving and needs to be carved after it has become dry, yet for me it is the closest thing to a living entity in that I can make some influences on the material, but it will still “organically” follow its own path.

Playing with the flow and pressure setting on the foam applicator does allow for some very interesting forms to be created which directly relate to the underlying anatomical research that I have done before starting this project.
